Dr. Candice Damiani is a Lecturer II in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh. She received her Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from West Virginia University and completed her postdoctoral work at the Center for Disease Control-NIOSH where she investigated the role of glial cells in response to neural injury. She has over 12 years of diverse undergraduate teaching experience, including experience with community college students, non-traditional students, and students from varying socio-economic backgrounds. She has been with the Department of Biological Sciences since 2012, teaching freshman and sophomores in Foundations of Biology 2 as well as upper classmen in Microbiology, Immunology, and Writing in the Biological Sciences.
